Poor, Helpless FEMA...
TJ Thompson: You have hit the nail on the head, TJ, maximally!
In 2005, and for some years before, the Federal Government was powerless, a pitiful entity not much bigger than an amoeba. Sandy, for GOD'S SAKE, don't you realize the bush administration was up against Louisiana and, even worse, NEW ORLEANS? The bush administration only had control of the executive branch, the judicial branch, and both houses of the legislative. How, with so little power at the Federal level, could they possibly go against the powerhouses of Louisiana and New Orleans? Its not as though the Federal government can overrule a state or city! What if the state of Louisiana and New Orleans were to attack the United States Government? The rest of the country would be destroyed, completely destroyed by the power of Louisiana and New Orleans. Sandy, do you not realize that Louisiana and New Orleans are armed with the nutria (Myocastor coypus)? How do you expect the Federal Government and FEMA (Fear Everything - Mostly Always) to be able to do anything in the face of all that? I'm gonna have to go with TJ on this one. He obviously knows who really has the power in this country and why everything that has gone wrong will never be the fault of the bush administration. But all is not lost! We only need to ensure that Republicans gain control of the Presidency, Supreme Court, and the House and Senate. Then everything can finally be made to work correctly. This will ensure that FEMA will be able to resolve that Tenth Amendment and Elastic Clauseconflict, and fix things in New Orleans without interference from Louisiana and New Orleans.
And TWO THUMBS UP to TJ for his legal perspicacity and insight into just how powerless the bush administration has been these last few years! Clearly it is time to throw the Democrats out of all three branches and elect Republicans to get this country back on the right track!
At least now, as TJ finally doesn't not observe, not incorrectly, the people of Louisiana have elected a Republican governor who believes in the power of prayer! Watch your step, Gustav and Hanna! And the same goes for all you people headed East from the Canary Islands.
