AS LEHMAN BROS. TANKS, CAN BREAD LINES AND SOUP KITCHENS BE FAR BEHIND? - September 10, 2008

Pat (mired in the midwest) D: "...look back at american history, you will find that both boom and bust cycles and crony capitalism are nothing new."

How's this for a look back at American economic history?

Do you notice any patterns?

And I don't give the bush administration credit for having ANY ECONOMIC SKILLS!

The Clinton administration, on the other hand, has shown considerable ECONOMIC SKILL.

Pat (mired in the midwest) D: "Don't believe me?"

Try that question on a person who lost their job or children's college fund because of the failure. How stupid is it to ask someone an irrelevant question? Irrelevant because obviously neither of us had money invested in that enterprise. But I can see that you would be easy to beat at checkers. You don't seem to be able to think many steps ahead. Like, for instance, that this bush crony capitalist corporation will eventually cost both of us, and every taxpayer, or our children and grandchildren, some amount of money in the future. It is also like a serious car crash on a highway. Some lives could be ruined and everybody has to slow down--adding further to total economic inefficiency--people are late to work, they miss appointments, etc.

Think before you think you have a snappy answer.
